Itinerary Summary
Dive into the enchanting world of Khmer ceramics at the Khmer Ceramic Centre in Siem Reap, a non-profit organization established in 2006 to revive the ancient art of pottery that flourished during the Angkor period. This half-day experience offers a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating history of Khmer pottery, including insights into how the bricks for the iconic Angkor temples were created.
Guided by a skilled craftsman, you will learn the traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations. Under his expert guidance, you’ll have the chance to sit at the potter’s wheel and shape your very own pottery piece using up to five lumps of fresh clay. By participating in this workshop, you not only gain hands-on experience but also contribute to the important mission of the centre, which provides free vocational training to disadvantaged youths in the community.
