Day 1: Luang Prabang to Muang La | Riverside Drive & Sacred Caves
Our journey begins in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site rich in royal history. We follow the scenic Mekong River to Muang La, stopping at the sacred Pak Ou Caves—home to over 4,000 Buddha statues and once visited by Lao royalty.Day 2: Muang La | Remote Village Encounters & Mountain Picnic
From the peaceful banks of the Nam Phak River, we venture off-road into the mountains to visit remote Ikhos and H’mong villages. Discover their unique traditions before enjoying a picnic at a panoramic viewpoint, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.Day 3: Muang La to Luang Namtha | Through Majestic Mountain Scenery
Today’s drive takes us through stunning highland scenery to Luang Namtha, near the Chinese border and known for its ethnic diversity. In the evening, explore the vibrant night market and taste local specialties like khao soi noodles.Day 4: Luang Namtha | Cycling Through Villages and Forests
We set out on a full-day cycling journey around Luang Namtha, passing through the scenic Nam Ha Protected Area. Along the way, we explore lush rice paddies, waterfalls, and ethnic villages of the Black Tai and Tai Leu, where we observe silk weaving, lantern making, and Lao rice wine distilling. Highlights include a visit to a local market and That Phoum Pouk Stupa.Day 5: Luang Namtha | Kayaking the Nam Tha River
Our kayaking trip down the Nam Tha River takes us through gentle rapids and rich natural landscapes. We visit a Khamu village and enjoy sightings of diverse wildlife—from birds to sun bears and even tigers. The journey ends where the Nam Tha meets the Nam Ha River.Day 6: Luang Namtha to Chiang Rai | Border Crossing to Thailand
We travel overland to Huay Xai, stopping en route at limestone-filled Kao Rao Caves. After crossing the Mekong via the Friendship Bridge into Thailand, we continue to Chiang Rai—a peaceful city surrounded by misty mountains and steeped in history.


Day 7: Chiang Rai to Mae Sai | Temples & the Golden Triangle
In Chiang Rai, we explore the historic Wat Phra Keo and the iconic “White Temple” (Wat Rong Khun). Then, we head to the Golden Triangle to admire the meeting point of Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand from a scenic viewpoint. In Mae Sai, a vibrant border town, we experience the energy of local hill-tribe trade.Day 8: Departure | Farewell to Northern Thailand
