Frequently Asked Questions

1
What is an e-visa? How does it work?
An e-visa is an official document that allows travelers to enter a country for tourism, business, or other purposes. It is applied for and obtained online, eliminating the need to visit an embassy or consulate. The approved e-visa is electronically linked to the traveler’s passport.
2
Which countries are eligible for an e-visa?
Eligibility depends on the destination country. Most countries provide a list of eligible nationalities on their official immigration or foreign affairs websites. Travelers should check the specific requirements of the country they plan to visit to confirm if they qualify for an e-visa.
3
How long does it take to get an e-visa approved?
The processing time varies by country, but it typically takes between 1 to 7 business days. Some countries offer expedited services for an additional fee, which may reduce processing time to as little as 24-48 hours.
4
What is the validity period of the e-visa?
The validity of an e-visa can range from 30 days to 1 year, depending on the country. Some e-visas allow single entry, while others permit multiple entries within the validity period. Check the specific conditions of the e-visa during the application process.
5
Can I extend my e-visa after arriving in the country?
Some countries allow e-visa extensions, while others do not. If extensions are permitted, travelers can usually apply through the immigration office in the destination country. Be sure to check the country's e-visa extension policies before traveling.
6
What documents are required for an e-visa application?
Commonly required documents include: A valid passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity. A recent passport-sized photograph. Proof of travel arrangements (flight bookings, accommodation). Credit/debit card for payment of the e-visa fee. Some countries may require additional documents such as invitation letters or proof of sufficient funds.
7
Is the e-visa valid at all points of entry?
Not all points of entry may accept e-visas. The e-visa will typically be valid at major international airports, seaports, and specific land borders. It's important to check the list of approved entry points on the destination country’s official e-visa page.
8
What should I do if my e-visa application is rejected?
If your e-visa application is rejected, you can: Review the reasons provided (if any) and correct any errors or missing documents. Reapply after addressing the issues. Contact the relevant embassy or consulate for further assistance or to apply for a standard visa.
9
Can I apply for an e-visa for multiple people at once (e.g., family members)?
Yes, many countries allow group applications. You can apply for multiple people in one go, such as for family members or friends. However, each person will receive a separate e-visa and must meet individual requirements.
10
What are the fees for an e-visa, and are there any hidden costs?
The fees for e-visas vary by country and visa type. These are generally displayed clearly on the application website. There should be no hidden costs beyond the stated application fee, but be wary of third-party websites that may charge additional fees for processing. Always apply through the official government e-visa portal to avoid extra charges.
